About this role
Role Purpose: Ensure the availability of materials necessary for production, minimizing inventory costs while meeting customer demands within Coats Bangladesh that uses systems (e.g. SAP / APO). This position is responsible for developing and implementing effective material planning strategies, optimizing inventory levels, and monitoring supply chain performance. Additionally, they collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material requirements, negotiate with suppliers, and maintain accurate inventory records. Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities : • Develop and execute material planning strategies to ensure timely availability of materials for production. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material requirements based on production schedules and customer demands. • Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce holding costs. • Identify potential material shortages or bottlenecks in the supply chain and take proactive measures to mitigate risks. • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts and pricing terms to ensure cost-effective and reliable supply of materials. • Work closely with procurement teams to source and qualify new suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality and delivery standards. • Continuously monitor market trends, industry developments, and technological advancements to identify opportunities for process improvements. • Analyze data and use demand planning tools to generate accurate material forecasts and maintain optimal inventory levels. • Coordinate with production teams to schedule material deliveries and minimize production disruptions. • Implement and maintain inventory control policies and procedures, including cycle counting and reconciliation processes. • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material planning, such as inventory accuracy, stock-outs. Education, Qualifications and Experience: (Include skills and competencies required to perform the role competently) Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics or a related field from a reputed University. 7–10 years’ progressive experience in production, demand, or material planning within a manufacturing, textile, FMCG environment. Strong command of S&OP process design and execution, inventory optimization, and capacity planning.. Comprehensive understanding of the concepts, principles, practices and tools used in supply chain e.g from suppliers to customers SAP, APO, PPDS, One Click, OFA, CRA, MDM Detail knowledge of products and materials and able to manage product complexity in supply chain planning. Ability to take both a strategic and tactical view of the business Knowledge about supply chain, including procurement, warehouse and distribution. Desirable: Masters or post graduate qualification in Supply Chain i.e. APICS/CPIM etc. Experience of working in a multinational manufacturing organization is highly desirable. Exposure to cross-functional operations, procurement, or distribution in a matrix organization will be an added advantage.
