Main duties of the job
Duties
Deliver comprehensive patient care, including health assessments, vaccinations, and wound management Assist GPs during consultations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety Conduct health screenings and organise follow-up appointments as necessary Provide health education and advice to patients on various health issues and lifestyle modifications Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with data protection regulations Support the practice in infection control protocols and clinical governance activities Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals Assist in organising clinics for chronic disease management and immunisations

Job description Job responsibilities
Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
Assisting GPs with minor surgery, coil fittings. LARCS where required
Peak Flow Readings
Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
Cytology once training has been completed
Ear Irrigation
ECGs
Expected achievement under Quality & Outcomes Framework
Expected Achievement under National and Locally Commission Service contracts
Extended Hours service provision
Health Promotion
Hypertension Management
INR Star/Anticoagulation Clinics
National Childhood immunisation programme once training has been completed
National Immunisation programme i.e. Influenza/Pneumococcal/Shingles
New Patient/Well Person Medicals
NHS Travel Vaccinations once training has been completed
Urinalysis
Venepuncture
Wound care/ulcer care/suture removal
Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs.Use of ICE.
Provide support for HCA/Phlebotomy colleagues

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Strong clinical skills including wound care, immunisations, and basic treatment room procedures. Good understanding of infection prevention and control. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong organisational and time management skills. Commitment to providing patient-centred care. Ability to maintain accurate clinical records. Willingness to undertake continued professional development and training.
Desirable
Experience with childhood and adult immunisations. Knowledge of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) requirements. Experience using clinical systems such as EMIS or SystmOne. Qualification or training in chronic disease management. Experience in health promotion and patient education. Evidence of continued professional development and training.
Qualifications Essential
Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A patient-focused and compassionate approach. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
Experience in primary care or community settings (desirable but not essential)
