Reports To: Grounds Foreman Days Worked: 235 Days (12 months)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school education or the equivalent preferred. Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid state driver's license (CDL preferred) Skills: Must be able to drive a truck, or tractor and operate machinery for tractor. Must be able to operate small machinery. Must have good interpersonal skills and leadership ability. Work Experience: Two years of on-the-job training experience in grounds work or related. PRIMARY DUTY: This position is responsible for carrying out duties as assigned by the grounds foreman, regarding grass cutting. Drives truck and tractor for landscaping purposes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Cuts grass according to schedule for the entire system, and keeps Foreman informed of progress.
• Carries out duties as assigned.
• Drives tractors with heavy-duty mowers and bush hogs.
• Cleans school yards.
• Drives trucks.
• Operate small maintenance machinery in a safe manner
• Keeps daily work order reports.
• Maintains grounds equipment.
• The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee's supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
