Job summary

Would you like to be part of an exciting, development role within our Dermatology Service?An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join us. This post offers an opportunity for a committed individual to work within a busy, friendly and dynamic service. You should be responsive to changes in the delivery of health care, be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and team working. The role will mainly support the Clinicians in providing expertise, teaching, advice and support to patients and families.Willingness undertake training on a range of procedures relevant to area skincare e.g. Dressings, Pre and post-operative checks, Assist in minor operations, Skin Prick Allergy testing, Patch-testing, Iontophoresis and Camouflage.

Applications are invited from people, who can demonstrate a willingnessto develop new competencies through learning on the job with support from specialist clinicians. You will need experience of working in an acute hospital environment or community setting, but consideration would also be given to those seeking development as we offer ongoing professional development and staff support.

Main duties of the job

A large part of the role involves maintaining high standards to ensure infection control standards are met. It is a excellent opportunity for individuals wishing to develop their interpersonal, communication and caring skills. Successful applicants will have a range of training and development opportunities which will be available in house.

Depending on service need, this post will involve working both at Hillingdon and at Mount Vernon Hospital sites. Post holder must be able to work full time and currently we work Monday to Friday although this is subject to change.

To assist the staff in the delivery of direct patient care.To assist the nursing staff in maintaining patients well-being and dignity in a safeenvironment and in maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.To understand and adhere to all relevant trust policies and procedures.To prioritise care as appropriate.To demonstrate good communication skills when dealing with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team utilising sensitivity, empathy and ability to manage conflict.Contribute to effective and timely of clinical flow of patients from admitting, supportingduring the procedures and discharges.To perform, understand and report patient risk assessments .To demonstrate initiative and the ability to recognise/identify changes in a patient's condition/treatment and report promptly to the registered nurse and medical staff as appropriate

Completion of a Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care or willingness to undertake one.
