School: Wheatmore High School 10 Month / Full Time Position Effective: 2026 - 2027 School Year Must hold or be eligible to hold a NC 720, 721, or 722 Health Science Educatior's License Verifiable Work Experience Required: 720 Health Science Education - RN 2 years work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree or Diploma (3-year program)
• Active clinical nurse in a long-term care, Assisted Living, Home Care, Hospital, Physician's Office, Public Health Departments, Outpatient - to include clinics, and surgical facilities, post-secondary nursing instruction if clinical instruction is included in responsiblities
Must Possess One of the Following Credential(s) Prior to Hire/Teaching
• Unresticted license as a Registered Nurse and completed a course in teaching adults
• Experience teaching adults
• Experience in supervising nurse aides
721 Health Science Education - Non-RN 2 years work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree 4 years work experience with Diploma Program in Licensed Practical Nurse or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
• Health educator at health departments, schools, etc.; athletic trainer, physical, occupational, or respiratory therapist, cardiovascular, nuclear medicine, or radiology technologist, medical doctor, paramedic, dietetic or advanced emergency medical technician, dental hygenist, licensed practical nurse, medical assistant, exercise physiologist, previous teaching experience in this content area
Must Possess One of the Following Credential(s) Prior to Hire/Teaching
• Healthcare license representative of degree prior to teaching
• Athletic Training - Certified Athletic Trainer from NATABOC
• State Level License for: Physical Therapist, Medical Doctor, Respiratory Therapist, or Paramedic
• Candidates with a health education degree and related work experience, may use a successful score on the ETS Praxis Exam 5551 (Health Education Specialist) as defined in LICN-003 in lieu of an industry credential
722 Health Science Education - Biotechnology 2 years work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree
• Biotechnology, biomedical engineer, biomedical informatics, quality assurance technician, clinical trials research associate, crime scene investigator, genetic counselor, microbiologist, science teacher, previous teaching experience in this content area
