SOUTH LAKE SCHOOLS VACANCY NOTICE Cafeteria Helper (2 open positions) Time: TBD and Location: TBD Nature of the Position: Under the general direction of the Director of Business & Operation, and the direct supervision of the Director of Food Service, the Cafeteria Helper will work together with co-workers for a smooth operation of the school lunch program. The Cafeteria Helper will work to enhance the program providing each student with nutritious food of the highest quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness and personal caring. Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Certification of good health

• Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the position

• This position may also be hired as a floater employee

• Experience as a food service worker, preferably in a school cafeteria

• Successful completion of ServSafe and/or food handler certification

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent my find acceptable.

• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.

• Employee shall properly implement Board Policy 3122, Policy 4122, and Policy 2260 on non-discrimination and shall comply with Federal and State laws and regulations, particularly Part 1 104 of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 CFR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Employment Conditions:

• Employees shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout their employment with the District.

• Employees shall comply with all Board policies and applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including but not limited to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), applicable non-discrimination requirements, and related educational regulations.

• Employees shall maintain all required certifications, training, and licensing requirements.

• Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate and acceptable.

ADA Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community agencies.

• Ability to read, analyze, and prepare reports, evaluations, records, and correspondence.

• Ability to use computers, district software, and standard office equipment.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout school buildings and grounds for extended periods.

• Ability to conduct observations, meetings, and student services in a variety of school settings.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately during behavioral, emotional, or mental health crises.

• Ability to lift and/or move light to moderate materials and equipment as needed.

• Ability to travel between district locations and community sites as required.

• Ability to attend meetings, trainings, and school-related events that may occasionally occur outside the regular workday.

• Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Compensation: $16.26 Cafeteria Helper Benefits and compensation in accordance with Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement.
