Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Welsh Blood Service on a secondment/fixed term basis as a Subject Matter Expert within the Welsh Bone Marrow Donor Registry (WBMDR).
The postholder will play a pivotal role in the procurement, testing, validation, and implementation of a new Stem Cell Registry Digital System, ensuring it meets the operational and clinical needs of the service and supports the supply chain of stem cells for patients in Wales and internationally.
This role requires close collaboration with Digital Services, Quality Assurance, Validation teams, and wider stakeholders to ensure successful system delivery and integration.
This post is a fixed term/secondment for 24 months from start date due to funding. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the job
Define and develop requirements for the new Stem Cell Registry Digital System to support procurement and implementation Lead testing and validation activities, coordinating resources across specialist areas Evaluate supplier responses and support procurement decision-making Develop and maintain documentation, including system requirements, testing, validation, and operational processes Provide expert advice on aspects of the stem cell supply chain Analyse complex data and translate technical requirements into accessible documentation Lead training development and delivery for system users Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure programme delivery within timelines Work collaboratively across WBS and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards

Qualifications & Knowledge Essential
Educated to Masters Degree level, or equivalent level of demonstrable work experience, knowledge and skills Evidence of participation in Continual Professional Development Significant experience of using a Stem Cell Registry Digital System within a Stem Cell Registry

Experience of producing requirements documentation to support a procurement exercise and subsequent implementation
