Job summary
The role of the Capital Division is to provide a comprehensive range of support services to allow the delivery of all of the Board's capital investment activities. The post holder will work within broad occupational policies and form part of an integrated team within the Planning and Estates Department.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist the Senior Project Officers in the effective operation of the capital planning process and delivery of all outcomes of investments to ensure that capital assets are procured and service improvements are delivered which are critical to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).
The post holder will utilise technical knowledge to provide a range of capital planning and project management services required by the UHB, whilst ensuring statutory compliance and with reference to all available advisory guidance. This will routinely necessitate working within challenging parameters of cost, time and quality.
The post holder will take the lead on allocated projects acting on own initiative with a degree of autonomy, in an environment of conflicting priorities and demands.

This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Qualifications Essential
Degree in Engineering /Construction related discipline, or the equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
Desirable
Project Management qualification.
Knowledge Essential
Specialist knowledge of the relationship of building design and building services, staff management and project management to postgraduate Diploma level equivalency.
Desirable
Knowledge of the Healthcare environment.
Experience Essential
Practical experience in estates/construction industry project management role.
Desirable
Experience of working within a healthcare organisation.
Skills Desirable
Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B1) are Desirable for this Role.
