Salary: £41,000 - 81,000 per year
Requirements: We are looking for someone with proven experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or in an equivalent senior individual contributor leadership role.We need a strong background in data platforms, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures, with experience shaping technical direction across teams and stakeholders.We are seeking solid expertise in technologies such as AWS, Terraform, Kafka/MSK, Airflow, Glue, or Spark, and in building scalable data solutions.We value experience with modern data ecosystems, including data lakes and lakehouse architectures, Iceberg or similar table formats, and batch and streaming processing.We look for knowledge of data quality, governance, cataloguing, and observability tools such as Datadog; experience with DBT or AI-assisted engineering practices is a plus. Responsibilities: We will rely on you to define and evolve the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture of our Data Platform across data, platform, and infrastructure domains.We want you to establish engineering standards, best practices, and reusable patterns while partnering with Enterprise Architecture and influencing technical direction.You will drive engineering excellence by improving code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and operational practices.You will support end-to-end delivery by guiding teams through complex technical challenges, improving decision-making, and contributing to planning and risk management.You will mentor engineers, grow senior technical capabilities, and champion AI-assisted development and engineering automation.
