Reporting to the Manager of Transportation, the Waste Disposal Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Weyburn landfill activities. This position involves operating a variety of heavy equipment, such as loaders, compactors (packers), and excavators (track hoes), to manage the placement, compaction, and covering of waste materials.The Operator supports day-to-day landfill operations by maintaining site conditions, ensuring adherence to environmental and safety regulations, and performing routine equipment inspections and maintenance. Responsibilities include moving, spreading, compacting, and covering waste to maximize landfill capacity and maintain a clean and organized disposal area.The role also involves monitoring incoming waste for compliance with disposal requirements, maintaining access roads and working areas, and contributing to overall site maintenance, including litter control and facility upkeep.Working in a physically demanding and outdoor environment, the Waste Disposal Operator plays a key role in supporting safe landfill operations, environmental protection, and effective municipal waste management services.
