About this role

Job summary Are you an enthusiastic and committed General Practitioner looking to join a supportive, progressive and innovative practice? Caritas Group Practice is seeking a Salaried GP to join our expanding clinical team and help us deliver outstanding care to our local community.

We are a forward-thinking GP practice caring for approximately 8,000 patients across three sites in Halifax. As part of the North Halifax Primary Care Network, we work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, accessible and patient-centred healthcare.

Our practice has a strong focus on teamwork, innovation and developing new ways of working. You will be supported by an experienced leadership team and work alongside a diverse multidisciplinary workforce including GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, pharmacists, nursing staff, healthcare assistants and wider PCN roles.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services as part of the clinical team at Caritas Group Practice. Working collaboratively with GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, pharmacists, nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver safe, effective and accessible care to our patient population.

The role will involve managing a varied caseload, assessing and treating patients, supporting long-term condition management, and contributing to proactive and preventative healthcare. You will work as part of a supportive team that values shared decision-making, continuity of care and effective clinical collaboration.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement activities and the ongoing development of practice services. We encourage our clinicians to share ideas, support innovation and play an active role in shaping how we deliver care to our patients.

As a Salaried GP, you will provide comprehensive NHS General Medical Services to our registered patient population, delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing face-to-face, telephone and remote consultations Assessing, diagnosing and managing acute and long-term conditions Making autonomous clinical decisions Referring patients appropriately to secondary care and community services Prescribing safely in line with West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board guidance Maintaining accurate clinical records using SystmOne Undertaking routine administrative work associated with patient care Participating in duty/on-call sessions for same-day urgent care Participating in Enhanced Access sessions on a rotational basis Supporting quality improvement, clinical governance and audit activity Contributing to teaching and mentoring where appropriate Attending practice meetings and protected learning eventsWhat We're Looking ForEssential

Qualifications Essential

Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise. On the National Performers List for England. Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent qualification. Evidence of maintaining continuing professional development (CPD) and professional revalidation requirements.

Desirable

Additional postgraduate qualifications relevant to primary care (e.g. Diploma/MSc or specialist interest qualifications). Evidence of training or involvement in quality improvement initiatives. Experience or qualifications in clinical leadership.

Experience Essential

Experience working as a General Practitioner within primary care. Experience managing a broad range of clinical presentations and patient needs. Experience of managing patients with long-term conditions and supporting preventative healthcare. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience of contributing to clinical governance, audit, significant event reviews or quality improvement activities. Understanding of NHS primary care systems, contractual requirements and current healthcare priorities.

Desirable

Experience working within a GP practice using multidisciplinary team models of care. Experience supporting service development or implementing improvements within primary care. Experience supervising, supporting or mentoring other healthcare professionals. Experience working within or alongside a Primary Care Network. Experience using SystmOne or similar clinical systems.
