What you’ll be doing
Responsible for maintenance and improvement of our suite of website and web applicationsImprove and optimize existing pages/apps and devise creative solutions to develop new onesWork collaboratively across the business, communicating with developers on other teams, product owners, project managers, analysts, business governance and so onFollow software deployment rules and create new and improved deployment mechanisms where neededAdhere closely to team code standardsIdentify and recommend improvements to pages, apps and processesCreate documentation for projects worked on as appropriateWork independently and multi-task effectivelyBe willing to accept a change in priorities as necessaryWhy this role is critical to us
Roles within the Ecommerce development team are business-facing technical roles creating experiences for consumers to interact directly with, and working closely with internal users to understand their varied requirements, helping them fully leverage existing system capabilities and developing new solutions within a dynamic organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experienceStrong front-end web design skills, including expertise especially in some or all of the following:JavaScriptTypeScriptCSS/SCSSNodeJSDockerBootstrapWordPressReactGatsbyJSGitHub (especially GitHub Actions)AngularHigh comfort level with debugging and troubleshooting using standard tools, both during development and QAExperience in API integration and developmentUnderstanding of – and experience working within a team that uses – GitHub repos, release workflows and branching strategiesUnderstanding of back-end development and/or experience working with back-end developersExperience working with SEO and SEM teamsKnowledge of web accessibility practicesFamiliarity with developing in MS Visual StudioKnowledge of databases, including MySQLAWS experience would be a plusExperience working on large scale consumer-facing websitesExcellent people skills with proven track record of working with remote stakeholders effectivelyWritten and oral fluency in English This is a remote role in Costa Rica. No relocation available.
