<p><strong>Job Title – Lead DevOps Engineer</strong></p> <p><strong>Company – ADBSafegate Labs India</strong></p> <p><strong>Location – Hyderabad</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Role Summary</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer with strong leadership skills who can take ownership of DevOps responsibilities and drive a service-oriented architecture mindset across the team. You will design, build, and operate a container-based delivery platform (artifacts shipped as containers) and maintain reliable development and runtime environments across both virtualized (e.g., Azure VMware Solution) and physical server landscapes. You will champion engineering quality (clean code, testing, automated analysis), operational excellence (troubleshooting, observability), and security compliance (CIS hardening, CVE reporting).</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Technical leadership & collaboration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead by example in engineering practices, mentoring team members and driving pragmatic standards.</li> <li>Collaborate with developers, platform/infrastructure, and security stakeholders to deliver efficient, reliable solutions in a small team environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>DevOps & CI/CD (container-centric)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines where <strong>deliverables are container images</strong>, including versioning, promotion strategies, and traceability.</li> <li>Automate build, test, security checks, and deployment workflows; ensure repeatable environment provisioning.</li> <li>Integrate artifact/image registries, policy enforcement, and automated reporting.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Containerization & orchestration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and maintain container build patterns (base images, hardening, minimal images, SBOM where applicable).</li> <li>Operate and support container orchestration platforms, <strong>including Kubernetes</strong>, while also handling container runtime aspects beyond orchestration.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Service-oriented architecture enablement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support teams in designing, deploying, and operating service-oriented/microservice-style systems (interfaces, contracts, runtime concerns).</li> <li>Enable platform capabilities for service reliability (health checks, rolling updates, scaling, dependency management).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Infrastructure & OS platform engineering (Physical, Virtual, Managed)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide and maintain tailored operating system baselines for:<strong>RHEL and Windows, </strong>Virtual environments (e.g., <strong>Azure, VMware Solution</strong>) and physical servers</li> <li>Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management using Ansible and Terraform (for cloud infrastructure).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Quality engineering & reliability</strong></p> <ul> <li>Drive code quality practices: <strong>Clean Code</strong>, code reviews, static analysis, linting, formatting, and dependency hygiene.</li> <li>Ensure automated testing strategy coverage (integration/system), pipeline gating, and reproducible environments.</li> <li>Own troubleshooting across the stack (pipelines, containers, OS, network, runtime issues) and improve operability via metrics/logging/tracing.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Security & compliance proof</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implement and document security controls, including <strong>CIS hardening</strong> for OS and container images.</li> <li>Provide <strong>CVE reporting</strong>, vulnerability remediation workflows, and evidence suitable for audits (e.g., baselines, reports, exceptions).</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Required Skills & Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience as a <strong>Senior software engineer</strong> with demonstrated <strong>technical leadership</strong> (ownership, mentoring, decision-making).</li> <li>Strong hands-on experience with <strong>containerization</strong> (Docker/OCI), image build optimization, and secure image practices.</li> <li>Solid experience with <strong>CI/CD</strong> design and operations (pipelines, gating, promotions, automation).</li> <li>Practical expertise with <strong>Kubernetes</strong> and container operations concepts (deployments, config, secrets, networking basics).</li> <li>Strong <strong>Python</strong> skills for automation/tools and <strong>Ansible</strong> for configuration management and OS provisioning.</li> <li>Experience administering and hardening <strong>RHEL</strong> and <strong>Windows</strong> (golden images/baselines, patching, configuration).</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a <strong>small, efficiency-focused team</strong> with end-to-end responsibility.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Nice-to-Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Azure and/or <strong>Azure VMware Solution</strong> operations and integration patterns.</li> <li>Experience generating/maintaining <strong>SBOMs</strong>, signing images, and supply chain security (e.g., provenance/attestation).</li> <li>Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code beyond Ansible (e.g., Terraform) and secrets management solutions.</li> <li>Experience with Rancher tools such as RKE2, and K3s for Kubernetes management and orchestration.</li> <li>Experience with Grafana and Prometheus for observability, monitoring, and alerting.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What Success Looks Like (Outcomes)</strong></p> <ul> <li>A reliable, fast, and secure container-based CI/CD process with clear promotion paths and traceability.</li> <li>Standardized, hardened, and maintainable RHEL/Windows baselines for both virtual and physical environments.</li> <li>Measurable improvements in code quality, test automation, and operational stability.</li> <li>Repeatable security evidence: CIS compliance status, CVE posture, remediation tracking, and audit-ready documentation.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>If you want to join a global business and enjoy being a team player who's driven and passionate, then this is your opportunity to come on board by applying! </p> <p>What to learn more about working at ADB SAFEGATE then check out our Career's website <a href="https://adbsafegate.com/about/career/">https://adbsafegate.com/about/career/</a></p>
