The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide. Role Purpose <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">As a .NET Web Developer, you will work with other team members to manage, modify, and develop computer systems required to manufacture optical fiber. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">The position will also participate in or occasionally lead projects to meet the optical fiber division’s objectives, drive cost reduction efforts, and participate in capacity expansion efforts. </li> </ul> Key Responsibilities <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Work hand in hand with a team of engineers to develop and provide support for our Manufacturing Systems, encompassing software to server assistance across the optical fiber division. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Participate in capital projects. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Some after hours, on-call support may be needed. </li> </ul> Experiences/Education - Required <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent industry experience. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Minimum of 5 years' experience in Object-Oriented design and development using languages such as C#, VB.Net, Java, Python, etc. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Proficient in computer programming skills including one or more of the following: C#, VB.Net, SQL, Git. </li> </ul> Experiences/Education - Desired <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Experience with MVC and/or Blazor</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Experience with Windows Server and IIS administration. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Familiarity with Git and Azure Dev Ops/Git Lab. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Experience in production support within a manufacturing environment. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills with a keen ability to discern the underlying needs in requests. </li> </ul> Travel Requirements & Work Hours: <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Some domestic and international travel may be required (0-10%) </li> </ul> This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $93,046.00 - $127,938.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
