At Ingenico, trust and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. </p><p>The scope </p> <p>The <strong>Senior Android Developer</strong> will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality Android applications on specialized devices in <strong>high-reliability, transaction-driven environments</strong>.</p> <div> </div> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain robust, scalable Android applications</li> <li>Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams</li> <li>Ensure performance, reliability, and seamless user experience on devices</li> <li>Handle complex scenarios (network variability, retries, data consistency)</li> <li>Contribute to architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices</li> <li>Troubleshoot issues across application, device, and integration layers</li> <li>Mentor team members and foster a collaborative environment</li> <li>Take ownership of features from design through to delivery</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience & Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of Android development experience (enterprise, POS, embedded, or hardware-integrated environments preferred)</li> <li>Strong expertise in <strong>Kotlin</strong> (Java is a plus)</li> <li>Solid experience with <strong>Jetpack, Compose, and Coroutines/Flow</strong></li> <li>Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)</li> <li>Experience with <strong>REST APIs, SDK integrations, and IPC/AIDL</strong></li> <li>Knowledge of <strong>CI/CD, Git, and testing best practices</strong></li> <li>Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have </strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in <strong>payments, fintech, or regulated environments</strong></li> <li>Knowledge of <strong>EMV, ISO8583, or transactional systems</strong></li> <li>Experience with <strong>resilient / offline-first architectures</strong></li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>secure development practices and sensitive data handling</strong></li> </ul> <h3> </h3> <h3><strong>What We Value</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Ownership and accountability</li> <li>Focus on quality, scalability, and clean architecture</li> <li>Pragmatic problem-solving with attention to detail</li> <li>Collaborative mindset and continuous learning</li> </ul> <p><strong>The role is based in Dalgety Bay, Scotland.</strong></p><p><span style=""><span style="">As part of our values, we embrace diversity and inclusion at Ingenico.
