<p><strong>Winter semester 2026/2027 – fixed term of 3 months</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>YOUR TASKS:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Independently familiarize yourself with the state of the art in the measurement of optical components</li> <li>Plan, carry out, optimize, and document replication processes (negative impressions) of optical components</li> <li>Perform metrological analysis of the replicas, e.g., using confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM)</li> <li>Compare and evaluate original and replicated measurements in terms of accuracy, resolution, and reproducibility</li> <li>Investigate influencing factors such as material properties, structure sizes, and surface roughness</li> <li>Assess the limitations and potential of the method for different optical components</li> <li>Analyze, present, and document results in a structured manner</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>YOUR PROFILE:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Enrolled in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering, Microsystems Engineering, Physics, or a comparable scientific or engineering field</li> <li>Interest in experimental laboratory work</li> <li>Basic understanding of measurement and analysis methods, with an interest in optical metrology</li> <li>Careful, structured, and independent way of working</li> <li>Strong analytical thinking skills</li> <li>Good command of English</li> <li>Strong teamwork and communication skills</li> <li>Open-minded and reliable personality</li> </ul><p><strong>Contact:</strong> Sarah Disch</p>
