Work with a multi-national, cross-functional team to design, develop, and test new product offerings and enhance performance of existing production lines.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:18.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Key Responsibilities</b></H2> </div><div><p><strong>Key Responsibilities & Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute projects while adhering to all relevant SICK product development processes covering design control, quality, and company standards and regulations and national and international regulatory body requirements.</li> <li>Support the entire product lifecycle including change management, product support, major and minor releases, and phase out.</li> <li>Work with internal and external resources to ensure all project technical, cost, and schedule requirements are met.</li> <li>Author documents, reports, correspondence, and other technical content.</li> <li>Plan, develop, and execute tests to verify the operation, reliability, and performance of software to guarantee product quality is incorporated into the design.</li> <li>Participate in reviews with peers and internal project stakeholders.</li> <li>Collaborate with Product Management to ensure new and innovative products and solutions are available to SICK customers.</li> <li>Contribute to project teams involving cross-functional participants.</li> <li>Use proof of concepts, prototypes, and MVPs to test, refine, verify, and validate new ideas.</li> <li>Develop a working knowledge of current SICK products, new development products, and engineering design processes.</li> <li>Work independently on large assigned projects.</li> <li>Train and guide teammates and ensure they have the proper knowledge of SICK processes and procedures.</li> <li>Perform all mechanical engineering functions of product development including engineering drawings/specifications, bill of materials generation, implementation, deployment, issue resolution, management of technical requirements, assessment and mitigation of risks, and creation of time and cost estimations.</li> <li>Analyze and report the effectiveness and feasibility of new materials, prototypes and final parts. Verify and evaluate test results to ensure compliance with tolerance limits of required specifications.</li> <li>Includes testing and analysis results regarding strength of materials, weights, forces and stresses, proper fit and interference analysis.</li> <li>Ensure product compliance with relevant standards, marks, and agencies.</li> <li>Use CAD, project management, and collaboration tools where necessary to drive and streamline product development.</li> <li>Carry out other job relevant duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:18.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Key Qualifications</b></H2> </div><div><p><strong>Qualifications, Skills & Competencies</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Experience</strong>: 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical development.</li> <li><strong>Education</strong>: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.</li> <li><strong>Certifications</strong>: None is required.</li> <li><strong>Position-specific Qualifications</strong>: <ul> <li>Strong problem solving, algorithm development, analytical, design, and debugging skills.</li> <li>Thorough understanding of technical issues and the ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve issues.</li> <li>Able to communicate and work with all levels of developers, managers, and business representatives.</li> <li>Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a business-critical production environment.</li> <li>Experience with mechanical design, development, debug, and deployment using Solidworks or equivalent.</li> <li>Knowledge of drafting standards, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing.</li> <li>Knowledge of product approvals and approval agencies: UL, CE, TUV, etc.</li> <li>Knowledge of testing and data interpretation, including vibration analysis, non-destructive testing, failure analysis, stress and strain analysis.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Computer/Technological</strong>: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet applications; CAD, project management, and collaboration tools; Solidworks or equivalent.</li> <li><strong>Language</strong>: Professional written and spoken fluency in English required.</li> <li><strong>Schedule</strong>: Generally Monday to Friday, full time; be on-call on some weekends (if required).</li> <li><strong>General Working Conditions</strong>: Be able to usually work in an office environment; flexible (hybrid) work arrangements available.</li> <li><strong>Travel</strong>: 5% (international and domestic), must have a valid passport</li> <li><strong>Work Status</strong>: Legally permitted to work in the country you are applying and willing to undergo an employment background check.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:18.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Compensation</b></H2> </div><div><p>The base salary is one part of our Total Rewards package and is determined within a range. The starting base salary range for this position is listed below; the actual starting salary will be based on a variety of factors including experience, skill set, education, performance, licenses/certifications, business needs and other job-related factors, as permitted by law.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Starting Base Annual Salary Range</strong>: $90,910 - $137,500</li> <li><strong>Bonus Eligibility</strong>: <em>NA</em></li> </ul></div></div></div>
