About this role
The CTO (Software) provides strategic and technical leadership for all software engineering functions across the organization. The role establishes engineering standards, drives architectural excellence, and ensures high-quality, secure, and scalable software delivery across all product verticals. The CTO acts as the technical authority for modern engineering practices and partners closely with the CPO to deliver world-class digital products. Key Responsibilities Define and enforce engineering excellence frameworks, coding standards, and best practices aligned with global benchmarks. Lead organization-wide DevSecOps maturity, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, secure coding, and cloud-native deployment. Oversee systems architecture, technical debt management, integration patterns, and long-term technology roadmap. Chair and manage the Engineering Governance Board for architecture reviews, design decisions, and platform alignment. Mentor and develop principal engineers, solution architects, and senior developers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture. Work with the CPO and product teams to ensure on-time delivery, scalability, reliability, and performance of all digital products. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to drive innovation and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements across all software systems. Establish and optimize the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) across teams, including: Requirement analysis & technical feasibility Architecture & solution design Secure coding and development standards Automated testing and QA frameworks Continuous integration & deployment Release management and environment governance Post-release monitoring, incident response, and observability Ensure adoption of Agile/Scrum, Lean, and DevOps best practices. Implement metrics-driven delivery using DORA, velocity, defect density, and cycle-time KPIs. Qualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. 15+ years of progressive software engineering leadership, including 5+ years at enterprise or platform scale. Proven experience leading large engineering teams, modern architectures, and cloud-native ecosystems.
