About this role
Advise EPZA on all legal matters related to its operations, policies, and strategic initiatives. Draft, review, and vet contracts, MOUs, agreements, notifications, legal notices, and other official documents. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, including but not limited to EPZA Ordinance and Rules made there under, labor laws, procurement laws (PPRA), and tax regulations. Represent EPZA in legal forums, courts, and arbitration proceedings as required. Coordinate with external legal counsel and monitor ongoing litigation involving EPZA. Prepare legal opinions and brief senior management on implications of policy or operational decisions. Provide guidance on land acquisition, lease agreements, and dispute resolution related to property and investment matters. Advise on regulatory frameworks for investor protection and enforcement of contractual obligations. Maintain a centralized repository of legal records, judgments, and legal correspondences. Conduct legal risk assessments and recommend mitigative measures. Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to EPZA and ensure timely compliance and adaptation. Assist in preparing responses to legal queries raised by oversight bodies, government institutions, or other stakeholders. Ensure transparency and legal integrity in all public dealings, tenders, and agreements. Submit monthly legal status reports to senior management, highlighting key issues, risks, and developments. A highly qualified and experienced Legal Consultant to provide expert legal advisory services and support the Authority in navigating complex legal and regulatory matters. The Legal Consultant will be responsible for ensuring that EPZA’s policies, operations, and transactions are fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations at both federal and provincial levels. The consultant will play a pivotal role in drafting, reviewing, and vetting legal documents, managing litigation, providing legal opinions, and coordinating with external legal counsel where necessary. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of administrative, corporate, labor, commercial, and contract law, particularly in the context of public sector and industrial development. Bachelors or Master’s degree in Law - LLB, LLM from a recognized institution. Enrollment with any High Court Bar Association. Additional certifications in corporate law or arbitration will be preferred. Quota - Merit Location - Karachi
