Designation: Senior System Administrator Grade: PPS-09 Fixed Salary: Rs. 306,250 per month (plus permissible benefits) Age Limit: 30 to 50 years Qualification Minimum 16 years of education (Bachelor’s) in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field from an HEC-recognized or internationally reputed university. Preference will be given to candidates holding 18 years of education (Master’s degree) in relevant disciplines. Industry-recognized certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNP, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) will be considered a strong asset. Experience Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in system administration, LAN/WAN management, and IT infrastructure operations, preferably in academic, research, or enterprise environments. Proven experience in leading infrastructure projects, managing IT teams, and supporting complex, mission-critical systems. Experience with national technology or capacity-building programs will be an advantage. Key Skills Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure including servers, operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows), storage solutions, and data center operations. Proficiency in virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Hands-on expertise in firewall configurations, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint security management. Strong understanding of disaster recovery, backup protocols, system redundancy, and high-availability architectures. Familiarity with scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python) for system automation. Excellent analytical, leadership, and documentation skills. Key Responsibilities Lead the installation, configuration, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-level server and network infrastructure in semiconductor training facilities. Ensure 24/7 system availability, performance optimization, and security compliance for critical IT assets and services. Plan and execute upgrades, patches, migrations, and capacity enhancements in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Implement robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery systems to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity. Establish, enforce, and update system access controls, security protocols, and network monitoring practices in line with cybersecurity best practices. Supervise and mentor a team of system administrators and IT support engineers; assign tasks, review outputs, and provide performance feedback. Collaborate with academic, technical, and vendor teams to meet the dynamic IT needs of training labs, instructors, and learners. Conduct technical orientations for new staff and deliver periodic training on updated tools and systems. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, SOPs, and system architecture diagrams for audits and knowledge continuity. KPIs for Annual Performance Appraisal Infrastructure Uptime: 99.5% uptime for all mission-critical servers and services. Incident Response: 95% of IT incidents resolved within SLA timelines (24-48 hours). Security Compliance: 100% adherence to organizational IT security policies, audits, and standards. Project Delivery: On-time implementation of at least 3 major IT upgrades or improvements annually. Team Development: Minimum of 2 internal workshops or training sessions led per year for IT team development. Performance-Based Increment 5% annual increment based on achievement of KPIs and overall performance
