Designation: Design Support Engineer Grade: PPS-07 Monthly Salary: Rs. 157,500 Age Limit: 25 to 45 years Location: Islamabad (with possible travel to partner institutions) Qualification: Minimum 16 years of education (BS/BSc or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an HEC-recognized or internationally accredited university. Additional certifications in VLSI Design, Embedded Systems, or Digital Design Tools will be an advantage. Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in technical training, academic labs, curriculum support, or semiconductor design-related fields. Prior experience working with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools is highly preferred. Exposure to the design and delivery of short courses or workshops in electronics or embedded systems is a plus. Key Skills: Proficiency in EDA tools such as: ModelSim, Xilinx Vivado, MATLAB/Simulink, Cadence, OrCAD, LTspice. Basic to intermediate knowledge of programming/scripting languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, or Verilog/SystemVerilog. Familiarity with digital design and embedded systems concepts. Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and content formatting for online platforms. Hands-on experience in assisting and delivering lab-based training modules. Excellent technical documentation and project coordination skills. Strong interpersonal communication and mentoring capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Assist instructors in developing and updating training content, lab exercises, technical presentations, and manuals tailored for semiconductor and embedded systems domains. Conduct lab sessions independently and provide technical supervision to students during project execution. Support academic delivery through troubleshooting and operational management of lab equipment and software tools. Maintain student performance records, lab results, and assist in assessments. Operate and maintain a suite of EDA and simulation tools essential for design support. Develop and deliver short-term, hands-on workshops in design tools, microcontrollers, or digital systems. Format and contribute to the creation of online training modules, video tutorials, and LMS-ready materials. Ensure continuous lab functionality through proper usage, maintenance logging, and escalation of repair requirements. Collaborate with senior staff on national initiatives to develop semiconductor design talent and technical capacity. Performance Metrics (KPIs): Lab Session Delivery: 95% sessions conducted per semester without escalation. Tool Availability: 100% uptime and availability of EDA tools per training cycle. Student Support: At least 90% student satisfaction score in lab feedback. Workshop Facilitation: At least 2 workshops or training events conducted per year. Content Development: Quarterly updates or contributions to digital/online training content. Annual Increment: 5% annual increment based on KPIs and overall performance appraisal.
