Job Description Designation: Assistant System Administrator Grade: PPS-07 Fixed Salary: Rs. 157,500 per month (plus permissible benefits) Age Limit: 25 to 45 years Qualification Minimum 16 years of education (Bachelor’s degree) in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline from an HEC-recognized or internationally reputed university. Preference will be given to candidates with 18 years of education (Master’s degree) in relevant fields. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MCSA, or equivalent are desirable. Experience Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in system administration, network support, or LAN/WAN infrastructure roles. Hands-on experience in supporting enterprise-grade systems, virtualization platforms, and server operations in academic or industry settings is preferred. Key Skills Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, networking devices, and storage systems. Working knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux/Unix) and common services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory). Familiarity with virtualization tools (VMware, Hyper-V), basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash), and IT ticketing systems. Exposure to cybersecurity concepts including firewalls, antivirus management, and user access controls. Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Ability to work under supervision and escalate issues when required. Key Responsibilities Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, networks, and critical IT systems across the semiconductor labs and training centers. Collaborate with senior IT staff in implementing cybersecurity protocols including firewall rules, antivirus deployments, and intrusion detection systems. Support regular backup and recovery operations, ensuring data security and system continuity. Monitor IT infrastructure performance and generate periodic health and utilization reports. Participate in system upgrade, patching, and maintenance activities under the direction of the Senior System Administrator. Provide first-line IT support to instructors, students, and administrative teams during training programs and workshops. Assist in onboarding new users, managing account setups, and delivering basic system orientations. Update technical documentation, maintain SOPs, and submit regular reports to the Sr. System Administrator. Help manage the digital learning platforms, remote access tools, and support EdTech initiatives for virtual delivery. KPIs for Annual Performance Appraisal Support Responsiveness: Resolve 90% of user support requests within SLA timelines (24–48 hours). System Availability: Contribute to maintaining 99% uptime of assigned systems and services. Documentation Compliance: 100% completion of assigned documentation and reporting tasks within deadlines. Security Compliance: Ensure timely implementation of system updates and endpoint security measures. User Satisfaction: Achieve minimum 85% satisfaction rating in user support feedback surveys. Performance-Based Increment 5% annual increment based on achievement of KPIs and overall performance.
