Job Description Designation: System Administrator Grade: PPS-08 Fixed Salary: Rs. 218,750 per month (plus permissible benefits) Age Limit: 30 to 50 years Qualification Minimum 16 years of education (Bachelor’s) in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline from an HEC-recognized or internationally reputed university. Preference will be given to candidates holding 18 years of education (Master’s degree) in relevant areas. Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or equivalent will be considered an added advantage. Experience Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in system administration, IT infrastructure management, LAN/WAN operations, or data center support. Experience working with secure and scalable server environments in technical or educational institutions will be preferred. Exposure to implementing cybersecurity best practices in enterprise systems will be a strong advantage. Key Skills In-depth knowledge of system and network administration, server architecture (Windows/Linux/Unix), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage solutions. Skilled in configuring and managing network firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, VPNs, and endpoint protection tools. Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python). Understanding of cybersecurity standards, patch management, and secure configuration practices. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with attention to performance optimization. Excellent communication, documentation, and end-user training abilities. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, network equipment, and other IT infrastructure components within the semiconductor design and training environment. Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring optimal uptime and quick resolution of any faults. Implement and maintain security measures including firewalls, antivirus solutions, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Manage scheduled backups, disaster recovery plans, and data restoration procedures to ensure business continuity and system resilience. Plan and oversee system upgrades, hardware refresh cycles, and software patching in alignment with organizational IT policies. Provide onboarding IT support, system orientation, and access provisioning to new users. Maintain updated technical documentation for all systems, processes, and standard operating procedures. Support hybrid/remote access to IT services for trainers, students, and project staff during short courses, bootcamps, and workshops. Collaborate with senior IT personnel and other departments to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable IT services across the program. KPIs for Annual Performance Appraisal System Reliability: 99% uptime for core infrastructure systems and services. Issue Resolution: 90% of user-raised tickets resolved within SLA (48 hours). Security Compliance: 100% implementation of scheduled patches and security updates. Infrastructure Updates: Completion of at least 2 planned infrastructure upgrades per year. User Support: Conduct at least 4 training/orientation sessions annually for end-users. Performance-Based Increment 5% annual increment based on achievement of KPIs and overall performance.
