About this role
Min. Experience Required: ------------------------------ - Hands on experience of ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, MapInfo, and other GIS tools and software for identification of unserved/underserved areas with respect to Telecom /Mobile/Optical Networks, Visual Analysis, change detection, supervised and unsupervised classification estimation. Description of Responsibilities: ---------------------------------- - Evaluation of Mauza identification form (MIF) of each project. - Managing and organizing project wise MIF reports and tabular datasets. - Highlighting Low population mauzas to the concern project manager of the project. - Effective tracking and communication of mauza profiling status and metrics with management. - Data sharing with internal/External stakeholder of USF. - Improvement of processes, procedures, and tools in Implementation department. - Validating MIF’s data's and provide timely response to the Project managers and service providers for the finalization of reports. - Managing geodatabase of all projects according to the audited figures (Sites, Mauzas, and Nodes etc.) - To perform coverage analysis and analyze geo-telco data to implement broadband projects while considering the maximum underserved/unserved population. - To perform GIS based analysis of existing optical network and layout of new network, routes, terrain, soil categorization, node placement, Tehsil/Town boundaries. - Use GIS tools to identify and categorize, population, tehsils, union councils, their boundaries, roads and telecom wired/wireless infrastructure. - Spatial Data Analysis based on existing telecom nodes, routes, coverage etc and identify unserved/underserved areas and analyze coverage complaints received via PM portal/PTA. - To highlight low population mauzas to the project manager of the project and to prepare change request sheet for noting approval. - To ensure effective tracking and communication of mauza profiling status and metrics to management and internal stakeholder of USF. - To share datasets with internal stakeholders of USF. Functional Skills / Knowledge Areas: ---------------------------------------- - Strong written and oral communication skills - IT skills, including the use and manipulation of complex databases and spreadsheets - Numerical skills with the ability to analyze data and statistics - Familiarity with Ordnance Survey mapping and digitizing techniques - Team working skills and the ability to work independently - Time management & ability to work under intense deadlines - Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Earth Pro, and ArcGIS platforms Qualification: --------------- - Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/Environmental Science (16 years of education) with major in GIS (MS in Remote Sensing & GIS will be preferred)
