Hiring of Director Skills & Capacity Development @ Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB)

Reports to: Chief Industry Development Officer (CIDO), PSEB Work Location: Islamabad (occasional travel, as and when required) Maximum Age: 45 years About the Role: The incumbent to work closely with CIDO on the planning, development and execution of projects and programs for skills development and capacity building of IT & ITeS sector, including trainings/certifications, internships, company level certifications, Made in Pakistan & localization initiatives etc. Responsible for building strong industry-academia linkages and actively engaging relevant government and private sector organizations to create a collaborative environment and synergies for the development of IT & ITeS sector. Qualification & Experience:  Minimum 16 years of education in engineering, computer sciences or management disciplines from HEC recognized local or international University, preferably with a higher degree in project management, engineering management or business administration. PMP certification would be an advantage.  Minimum 5 years of demonstratable experience in building and managing skills development programs and projects, and leading an organization’s international certifications and compliance, within the technology industry is required. International experience in a similar role will be advantageous. Minimum three years of experience in relevant leadership role is required, preferably in a technology driven organization. Key Responsibilities:  The incumbent will work closely with CIDO on planning, development, and execution of IT & ITeS industry skills development and capacity building programs and projects, including but not limited to technology trainings/certifications, management trainings, soft skills development, on the job trainings and internships, company level international certifications and compliance to international standards and regulations, Made in Pakistan & localization initiatives etc. Desirable candidate will possess in-depth understanding of business of technology and global technology market.  Build a strong Industry-Academia linkage to develop globally competitive tech talent, build a strong ICT higher education accreditation and assessment body in Pakistan that ensures international recognition of ICT higher education from Pakistan on forums such as Seoul Accord and acceptable in leading technology advanced countries.  Actively coordinate and engage with public and private stakeholders, including but not limited to Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Board of Investment, Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, provincial IT Boards, skills development bodies at both federal and provincial level, Pakistan Software Houses Association, Chambers of Commerce & Industry, etc. to build skills and capacity of IT & ITeS sector, build and promote Made in Pakistan & localization initiatives, as well as improving international rankings of Pakistan as a leading Tech Destination.  Forge relationships with multi-lateral organizations to fund and support programs and initiatives for skills development and capacity building of IT & ITeS sector. Demonstration of similar experience will be advantageous.  Prior experience of designing, developing and successfully executing PSDP projects will be advantageous.  Any other responsibilities assigned from time to time by the top management.
