The NHS is changing. More emphasis on community-based care means there's never been a better time to join us.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health to join our caring and progressive team in Margate.

We're a close team but we're never exclusive, if you can bring a professional approach and fresh ideas we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust provides integrated sexual health services across East Kent and Medway from a variety of settings including acute hospital sites, purpose-built health centres, community hospitals, community clinics and GP practices.

Services include sexual and reproductive health, outreach and young persons (YP) services and GUM/ HIV services. We also provide psychosexual services for the whole of Kent and Medway. In Medway, we provide a Level 3 integrated sexual health service and outpatient HIV service from new purpose-built premises at 4 Clover Street, Chatham, with around 15 000 patient attendances per year. There is a cohort of 320 individuals living with HIV who attend for outpatient care. We are not contracted to provide HIV inpatient care at Medway Maritime Hospital but this may be a possibility in future. There are extended opening hours including evenings, but currently no weekend responsibilities.

We provide online testing for asymptomatic and simple symptomatic clients through SH:UK, outreach services for vulnerable clients, and also work in partnership with a variety of community organisations in Medway to deliver sexual health care outside of the clinic. There is a fully equipped office with IT access shared with the GUM consultant, and an on-site medical secretary. The post holder will be encouraged to access mentoring through the BASHH / BHIVA / FSRH Mentoring Scheme or any other suitable alternative
