Job summary

We are looking for someone who is passionate about Cancer Services and blood disorders, supporting patients and delivering improved pathways for our patients.

You must be able to organise and prioritise your own workload to meet the demands of the role. Have the ability to function and communicate effectively as part of a team, the ability to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving and identifying situations requiring further advice.

Main duties of the job

You should have excellent communications skills, work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff with a flexible, patient centred approach. You will provide support and signposting to cancer patient's and their relative's in person and on the telephone. You will support the CNS team with administrative duties such as triaging phone calls and referring to the most appropriate service or CNS, booking appointments, and completing referrals if required. Email administration. Communicating with partner NHS Trusts to ensure a smooth, efficient pathway for patients referred into tertiary services for their cancer care. The post holder will be responsible for offering and completing Holistic Needs Assessments with patients either face to face or over the telephone, this will involve signposting for support where required as well as follow up on actions not requiring CNS support. You will act with compassion and understanding towards patient and their families. As part of the CNS team you will work with the multi disciplinary team. The post holder will work alongside the CNS team to deliver local cancer support groups including providing administrative support. Closing date of applications: 13 July 2026

We carry out more than 140 elective procedures each working day.
