About this role

An engineering project manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of an engineering project from conception to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and quality control, ensuring the project meets technical specifications and deadlines while staying within budget constraints; they typically have a strong understanding of engineering principles and project management methodologies.

Responsibilities:

Developing a detailed plan that outlines all phases of the renovation and upgrading works, which are critical for smooth execution. This includes defining clear objectives, timelines, resource allocation, and quality benchmarks.Close monitoring of all aspects of project implementation to maintain progress as per schedule while adhering to quality control measures. This will involve tracking milestones, addressing potential bottlenecks proactively, and ensuring deliverables meet established standards.Effective coordination with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Regular updates to ensure alignment across all parties involved.Efficient management of resources to meet project requirements while staying within budget constraints without compromising on quality or timelines.Regular communication with leadership to provide updates on progress, address any challenges or risks promptly, and ensure alignment with broader organizational objectives at every stage of the project.Thorough analysis of architectural and related plans for preparing detailed BOQ and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor and equipment.Overseeing payments, inventory and materials costs to ensure project remain within budgetary constraints.Identifying potential financial or construction risks early and implement proactive strategies to mitigate delays or unexpected costs that could affect project timelines or outcomes.Negotiating with contractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing in controlling costs while maintaining quality standards.Tracking changes in design or construction work to adjust budget projections, ensuring that any deviations are managed efficiently without compromising overall objectives.Prepare efficient document management system, to maintain accurate reporting of the project. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related fieldCertifications in PMP (Project Management Professional) Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira) and other relevant engineering software is essential. Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferable strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies in hotel projectsThe ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions is important.Excellent leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilitiesProven ability to manage budgets and resource allocationStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesExcellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCADAdvanced MS Office skillsCurrent engineer licenseCompetencies
