Starting Salary: $75,000 - $82,000 annually

Location: Denver, CO (Englewood) / This is a hybrid role with the expectation of 4 days in office per week.

Position Summary

The HR Generalist will support HR operations across the U.S. and Canada, partnering closely with managers and employees to ensure an efficient, compliant, and people‑focused HR function. This role handles a broad range of HR duties including employee relations, recruitment support, leave management, HR administration, compliance, and employee development initiatives.

You will partner closely with managers and employees to drive HR excellence in a fast‑growing, mission‑driven global organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & HR Support

Provide guidance and consultation to managers on HR‑related issues and employee engagement.

Handle employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters as needed.

Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Recruitment & Onboarding

Assist with recruiting efforts by conducting interviews and coordinating the hiring process.

HR Operations & Compliance

Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including:

Disputes and investigations

Occupational health and safety

Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, particularly FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act).

Review, track, and document mandatory and non‑mandatory training, including safety and anti‑harassment training.

Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation pertaining to personnel and employee safety matters.

Leave Management

Manage LOA/STD/LTD processes for eligible employees.

Serve as the primary point of contact for leave‑related questions and documentation.

Ensure accurate tracking, communication, and compliance with federal and state leave regulations.

Payroll Support

Serve as backup for payroll responsibilities to ensure continuity in the event of absence or unavailability.

Other

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably as a Generalist.

Knowledge of federal and state employment and payroll laws/rules, most importantly Colorado and California.

Advantages; previous experience from the Life Sciences industry.

Skills and Competencies

Payroll processing experience, preferably using ADP Workforce Now

Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Accountable, collaborative and communicative team player and reliable advisor.

Business interest and an aptitude for working in an international environment with an openness for diverse perspectives and cultures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
