About this role
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for repairs on manufacturing equipment. They will troubleshoot maintenance issues, perform routine scheduled maintenance on all steel fabrication manufacturing equipment and resolve mechanical problems. The Maintenance Technician I reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor/Superintendent.

• Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with staff, projects and proprietary information.
• Repair manufacturing equipment by working alone or with other team members minimizing downtime.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete equipment inspections outlined on a checklist sheet.
• Communicate difficult repairs to shop superintendent.
• Repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems and equipment air systems.
• Service small forklifts.
• Use shop equipment such as hydraulic jacks, air tools and pullers.
• Perform routine maintenance on all steel fabrication equipment.
• Perform detailed repairs on all manufacturing equipment that includes
• Trained in the use of tools, including but not limited to, automatic rebar stirrup benders, rebar shears, rebar threaders, band saws, cut-off saws, related support equipment, overhead cranes, welding equipment, automated robotic steel plate plasma cutting and welding machines.
• Maintain repair parts inventory list.
• Other duties as assigned
Experience and Education:
• High School Diploma is required.
• 5 years of experience in Maintenance Mechanics is required.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple inspections while meeting deadlines.
• Comfortable using computers, tablets, and data entry systems.
• Ability to escalate issues appropriately while maintaining positive working relationships.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
• Manufacturing and outdoor environments with exposure to weather, noise, moving equipment, and machinery.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Required use of PPE including hard hat, high-visibility vest, gloves, and eye and hearing protection.
• Overtime and shift changes may be required based on production needs.
