Education: College/CEGEP. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Diagnose livestock health issues. Handling animals. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Oversee the activities of clearing the fields. Treat livestock health issues. Maintain financial and production records. Negotiate with clients for provision of services. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Formulate feeding program. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties.
