ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Head of Operations to lead operational performance across Apex Radiology and act as the deputy to the General Manager.
This is a senior leadership role with broad scope across multiple sites, where you will drive operational excellence, lead high-performing teams, and ensure consistent service delivery across both metropolitan and regional WA. You will play a critical role in translating strategy into execution, supporting business performance, and providing strong, steady leadership across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead day-to-day operations across Apex Radiology's multi-site network • Act as Deputy to the General Manager, representing the GM in key forums and decisions • Drive performance across patient access, workflow efficiency, utilisation, and turnaround times • Lead, coach, and develop Site Managers and operational leaders to build a high-performance culture • Support delivery of financial outcomes, including productivity, cost control, and EBIT performance • Partner with clinical leaders to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and service consistency • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards • Strengthen relationships with referrers, WA health stakeholders, and regional partners • Lead operational improvement initiatives across both metro and regional services
ABOUT YOU
• Proven experience in a senior multi-site operations leadership role (radiology will be highly regarded) • Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted deputy / second-in-command • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a track record of delivering performance outcomes • A people-focused leader with experience building capable, accountable teams • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with clinical teams and external partners • Experience leading operational improvement and change initiatives • Demonstrated strategic planning and project management. • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with high levels of resilience and judgment
Highly regarded:
• Experience and/or qualifications in radiology, diagnostic imaging, or healthcare services • Understanding of regional service delivery and WA healthcare environment • Familiarity with billing, compliance, and patient administration processes
Key Performance Indicators Success in this role will be measured by:
• Improved patient access, wait times, and service availability • Achievement of report turnaround time (TAT) and utilisation targets • Delivery of labour efficiency, cost control, and EBIT performance • Strong employee engagement, retention, and leadership capability uplift • Positive patient, referrer, and stakeholder feedback • Successful audit, compliance, and accreditation outcomes
