About this role
You implement new scan sequences, designed by doctoral students, on various experimental ultrasound scanners (e.g. 128-channel Verasonics, 1024-channel ULA-OP) using (custom-made) sensor arrays. You design protocols for acoustic safety measurements and carry them out in order to enable human application of the above-mentioned scan sequences. You maintain and develop the current software solutions for ultrasound and CMR imaging and image processing developed by the lab and maintain the version control system. You develop further hardware/software optimizations with usability as a guiding principle. You develop project-specific analysis tools. You keep MDR up to date where necessary. You provide technical details and documentation for funding applications. You implement – in close consultation with the management and involved PIs – a sound research data management (RDM) plan for the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences. You act as the central point of contact for RDM-related issues. You support dissemination initiatives of the lab (the annual symposium of the research division; contributions to the Day of Science, etc.). You are the HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) contact point for the research division. You occasionally assist fellow departmental support staff with small tasks (e.g. exam supervision). You preferably have a master’s degree in image processing; biomedical engineering or a relevant field. Or you have equivalent experience. You have good organizational skills, a cooperative and supportive attitude. You are punctual and dedicated to developing high-quality tools. You work smoothly together in a diverse, interdisciplinary team. Knowledge of English is required
