Job summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that both the patient facing and back-office functions are coordinated, effective and adhere to the practices existing policies and procedures.
The Operations Manager will liaise closely with the Practice Business Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, Admin Manager, Reception Supervisor, the Lead Nurse and Partners.
The role of Operations Manager is to work to provide management support and services to the practice team. The Operations Manager should deputise for the Practice Business Manager in their absence.
The Operations Manager will have the authority to work on their own initiative, being supported by the Practice Business Manager.
The Operations Manager will be of exemplary character and will act under the direct supervision of the Practice Business Manager.
The Operations Manager will conduct themselves with tact, courtesy, sympathy and efficiency, remaining pleasant and professional at all times. The post holder should project a positive, professional and friendly image. Particular attention is drawn to the confidential nature of this post.
Duties and responsibilities may change as the needs of the practice, local and national government requirements are implemented, therefore the post-holder will be required to undertake any other task for which they are properly trained and are asked.

About us
We are a well-managed and organised practice, established within the Eastern Vale Collaboration (EVC) of Cardiff & Vale University Health Board. Currently we have a list size of circa 9,400. Our Business Manager is the EVC Lead one of our partners is the Vale Constituency Lead for the Bro Taf LMC. We provide a full range of enhanced services to our patients including minor surgery, LARC/Coil contraception, nursing home enhanced care and shared care monitoring. We currently have 3 partners and 3 salaried GPs who between them provide 33 sessions and 3 part time nurses equivalent to 2.0 WTE. We have a range of non-clinical staff who cover all aspects of administration from reception to secretarial, general medical admin, repeat prescribing, workflow and scanning/coding. We have a part time assistant practice manager, part time admin/reception manager and a reception supervisor. We are looking to recruit an Operations Manager to oversee all these roles and manage the day to day running of the surgery, supported by the business manager.
