About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available within the infection prevention and control team. We are currently looking for a Band 6 Paramedic/Nurse with a experience or interest in infection prevention within the Emergency Ambulance Service.

Main duties of the job

As a key member of the Infection Prevention and Control team, the duties will include; undertaking audit, surveillance, education and supporting campaigns. Alongside this you will be guiding and supporting clinical staff on Infection Prevention and Control guidelines and policies, therefore promoting safe, quality, patient centred care. You will be committed to quality improvement, engaging with staff and have the ability to translate guidance and strategy into changes of care.

Person Specification

Education and qualifications Essential

Registered clinician (Paramedic or Nurse) Educated to degree level.

Desirable

Basic Infection Control Course. Teaching course or equivalent (or able to demonstrate mentorship / teaching experience Recognised post graduate qualification in IPC, or equivalent experience.

Previous experience (Paid/ Unpaid relevant to job) Essential

Proven leadership experience Broad clinical experience in an acute or community healthcare setting.

Desirable

Experience in infection prevention and control audit, surveillance and using evidence-based care. Experience in implementing local infection prevention and control polices. Experience relating to IPC. Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes.
