Midwifery Team Leader
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced midwife to join our Midwifery Led Unit ( Birth Centre)) as a team leader.
We look after a diverse population where women/birthing people and their families are treated as individuals providing personalised care.
We are at the forefront of innovation, this includes partners staying overnight, enhanced recovery, and midwifery led induction of labour and normalising birth.
We provide a first class service, which is reflected in the number of positive compliments received from our satisfied service users.
We have a beautiful Birth Centre with four pools and our Labour Ward has two birthing pools and telemetry to encourage normality.
This role is Monday- Friday , 7.5 hours.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will lead the Birth Centre team, as well as participating in the Flow Coordinator rota. They will work alongside the current Birth Centre Team leader who is reducing their working hours. Management of the staff providing midwifery led intrapartum care, along with innovative leadership is expected. Please see job description for further description of duties.

Person Specification
education/qualifications Essential
Registered Midwife and live on the register Degree/Diploma in Midwifery Evidence of professional accountability via professional portfolio
knowledge & experience Essential
Have minimum 3 years as a Band 6 within midwifery Experience in working in areas of all midwifery practice Champion for midwifery led care Provide evidence of continuous personal and professional development

Experience of participating in clinical governance initiatives Experience of change management
Skills & abilities Essential
Experience and evidence to be able to lead, manage and supervise staff, delegating work appropriately and develop a team and act as a role model Experience and evidence to demonstrate ability to influence and manage change, including the promotion of evidence based practice Evidence and experience in setting and monitoring standards of care Must be able to practice in all areas in accordance with the Midwives rules and code of conduct
