Job summary

DSFS Ltd are looking for an organised, confident and proactive Corporate Services Lead to play a key role in supporting corporate governance, Board assurance, risk management and strategic coordination across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the centre of an organisation, supporting senior leaders, coordinating important governance activity and helping ensure effective decision making.

Working as a senior specialist within the Managing Director's Office, the postholder will take a lead role in coordinating priorities, maintaining effective governance processes and providing accurate, timely information to support assurance and oversight.

The role will suit someone who is detail-focused, solutions-minded and comfortable working with a wide range of colleagues to keep governance, risk, compliance and performance arrangements running smoothly.

You will help coordinate DSFS Limited Companies Board and governance meetings, support clear reporting and assurance, and contribute to the effective delivery of key organisational priorities and external standards set by Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for a professional and approachable individual with excellent coordination skills, sound judgement, strong attention to detail and the confidence to build effective working relationships with senior leaders and wider stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

Lead the coordination of Company Board, Performance and Contract meetings, ensuring agendas, papers, actions and follow-up activity are clear, timely and outcome-focused.

Prepare, quality check and coordinate the timely submission of governance, assurance and performance reports, helping ensure information is accurate, consistent and fit for purpose.

Take a lead role in reviewing, maintaining and improving DSFS governance frameworks, policies and procedures so they remain practical, accessible and aligned to organisational needs.

Act as a key point of coordination across DSFS, the Trust and partner organisations, developing positive working relationships that support clear communication and joined-up governance activity.

Coordinate and monitor risk management and incident reporting processes, supporting effective identification, escalation, follow-up and assurance.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training Essential

NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience, with significant experience in office coordination, governance support or corporate administration at a senior level/Foundation degree level Provision of services in the healthcare industry in a lead coordination or senior support role, able to demonstrate a good understanding of operational delivery Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of a variety of NHS sectors. Proof of successful strategy development and implementation. Able to create/shape innovative strategic vision for the best possible long term benefit of the organisation and patients. Exceptional communicator, able to create impact and demonstrate proactive customer relationship awareness.

Desirable

A proven track record of translating strategy into effective delivery. Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly Demonstrated capabilities to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales Ability to make decisions autonomously, when required on difficult issues.

Experience Essential

Strong experience in governance, corporate services, compliance, or executive support within a complex organisation. Proven ability to deliver governance or performance cycles reliably and on time. Confident in handling sensitive information with discretion Ability to work across multiple levels of the organisation Experience within NHS, public sector, or subsidiary company governance. Significant managerial experience and able to work autonomously and set work for administrative team based on business priorities and needs.

Skills and Knowledge Essential

Excellent organisational leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple workstreams. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Understanding of corporate risk management frameworks and statutory compliance High level of written communication, able to produce accurate and professional reports, minutes, and assurance papers.

Personal Attributes Essential

Ability to influence, build trust, and work effectively with senior leaders and board members.
