Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team of 15 Consultants based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, providing services for patients across North Derbyshire and the surrounding area. This is an expansion post to support the continued delivery of the personalised high quality care our women expect close to home.
The role will suit someone with the relevant experience to help us deliver antenatal care for women with pre-existing medical conditions, and for pregnancies which are high risk due to fetal reasons.
You will be expected to work flexibly and cover both Maternity and Gynaecology including provision of assessment, care and treatment of emergency patients presenting to the department.
We would like the appointee to have a special interest in advanced antenatal care for high risk pregnancies. SITM in pregnancy care, or relevant Contingent SITMs or accreditation to an equivalent advanced skills module would support the skill set for the role.
Additional accreditations are desirable. We can also support individuals to develop skills in scanning to complement their special interests.
We are looking for someone with the right experience and ability to work as an effective team member, providing clinical leadership and advice on the efficient and smooth running of our services.

Qualifications Essential
MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification SITM in pregnancy care or accreditation to an equivalent advanced training antenatal care module Full registration with GMC with entry on the GMC Specialist Register, or training to a level commensurate with the award of CCST/HPT or eligibility for entry on the specialist register of the GMC within 6 months of interview Relevant CCT or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC)
Desirable
Further Higher Degree/ Qualification Other ATSMs or SITMs to support special interests
Experience Essential
Wide experience in proven leadership and teaching experience Wide range of experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology Quality/audit project experience. Experience of participation in CPD.

Skills Essential
