Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Management Accountant to provide high quality financial management support to both clinical and non clinical budget holders. The role includes meeting with budget holders, preparation of monthly reports and forecasts, involvement in financial bids for new business, financial process improvement and completion of year end working papers.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, flexible, hard working individual who has experience of working within management accounts, preferably in an NHS setting. You will need to be an excellent communicator, in both written and oral formats, to explain financial issues to non finance managers and clinicians. The ability to work independently and know when to ask for further advice and support is also required.

Job description Job responsibilities
The financial management team seeks to achieve optimum value for money in all of the trusts services. It does this by supporting managers to understand the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of the resources within their control. The post holder will need to produce insightful financial analysis and be persuasive when dealing with conflicting priorities, ensuring financial opportunities and risks are quantified and understood by a variety of stakeholders.
The senior management accountant reports to the senior finance business partner. They will build close relationships with service managers across the trust in a variety of settings. Utilising their expertise to identify, collate and analyse key information from operational and support services. The post holders responsibilities will include; management accounts, budgets, forecasts, financial bids for new business, financial process improvement, and year-end working papers. They will use all of these outputs to help secure the trusts financial risk ratings and audit opinion. As a senior member of the team, the post holder will be expected to work independently and use their own initiative within their own sphere of work. Guidance will be available, when required , from the senior finance business partner. The post holder will be expected to become involved in financial matters relating to the whole Trust as and when required and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team and Finance department procedures.
