About this role

Job summary As an ENT Nurse Practitioner with InHealth, you will provide expert, patient-centred care within our community ENT service across Greater Manchester. Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will lead ENT clinics, assess and manage patients presenting with ear, nose and throat conditions, and support timely diagnosis and treatment. Using advanced clinical skills and specialist knowledge, you will deliver high-quality care, provide health education, and ensure appropriate onward referrals where required. You will also contribute to service development, clinical governance, quality improvement and the mentoring of colleagues, helping to maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Main duties of the job Lead ENT nurse-led clinics supported by Healthcare Assistants, undertaking comprehensive patient assessments, history taking and physical examination. Perform specialist ENT procedures including microsuction and, where trained, naso-endoscopy. Develop and implement appropriate management plans, make autonomous clinical decisions, and refer patients to medical colleagues or other healthcare services when required. Maintain accurate patient records, supply medications under Patient Group Directions (PGDs), and provide health education and counselling. Support clinical triage, mentor and train colleagues, participate in audits and governance activities, manage clinic stock levels, and ensure compliance with infection prevention, health and safety, data protection, CQC and organisational policies.

Job title: ENT Nurse Practitioner

Salary: up to £44,000 FTE DOE

Hours: 14 hours per week as per local rota

Location: Greater Manchester

Introduction:

InHealth is an accredited provider of hearing and Ear, Nose and Throat services, across the UK. Our GP direct referral, patient centred, community audiology services are delivered from GP surgeries and community hospital locations, facilitating timely diagnosis for patients with hearing, balance and ENT related problems as well as access to a range of on-going support and aftercare.

What you will do: As an InHealth ENT Nurse Practitioner you will provide clinical leadership and will deliver a high standard of patient care, using advanced autonomous clinical skills, and a highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience. What you are responsible for: Leading ENT nurse clinics with the support of an HCA team Ensuring that all patients receive the optimum level of care and are referred on to medical colleagues as appropriate Support colleagues with clinical triage Providing a service for physical examination of the ear, nose and throat making use of skills in history taking, physical examination including micro suction and naso-endoscopy. Using problem-solving and clinical decision-making, to establish a diagnosis and management plan Maintaining accurate records and documentation Supplying and using medications with Patient Group Directions (PGD) Providing counselling and health education Having the authority to admit and discharge patients from their caseload and refer patients to other health care providers Undertaking responsibility without supervision for the care of patient Mentoring, supporting and training other nurses and audiologists in developing and maintaining clinical skills Ensuring that all onward referrals and discharges are completed at the end of the clinic Adhering to all operational procedures as outlined by the company (daily returns, timesheets, private mileage returns etc) Maintaining a high level of professionalism, customer care, and service provision Reporting all incidents and complaints in line with company policy Adhering to the requirements of the Data Protection Act Participating in governance activities i.e. audits, personal development, and team meetings Monitoring essential stocks and re-order as required Maintaining a clean and safe working environment Complying with ISO standards in respect of Information Security Management. Completing local fire safety and health and safety checks as necessary including hand hygiene Assisting in CQC preparations and inspections. We are looking for someone who has: Knowledge of clinical audits Experience on ENT service or willingness to learn to perform naso-endoscopies and microsuction of the ear. The awareness of the Data Protection Act and Caldicott Principles Up to date training in infection control, manual handling, patient transfer, and health and safety The ability to work in an autonomous role and make decisions The highest level of physical skills due to the need for precision in hand, eye, and sensory co-ordination Strong concentration Computer literacy with accurate data entry skills and attention to detail The ability to be a team player, to motivate others and deliver beyond expectations The flexibility to work the shifts and to cover at short notice if required A full UK Driving License to get to the three site locations.
