An exciting opportunity has arisen in thetrust's Financial Planning & Costing team for a Costing finance analyst.
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic teamand willhelp shape the future ofourcostingservicesas a key part of the trust'sdecision-makingframework.
This is an exciting and varied role with opportunity to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders, developing service line reporting and patient level information & costing (PLICS) to inform decision making and improve patient care.

Main duties of the job
Reporting to theCosting Finance Manageryou willsupport thepreparationand presentation ofthe trust's service line reporting and patient level information and cost reports,support the transition to cost-basedfundingmechanisms andcontribute to the trust's transformation agenda through the identification of productivity and efficiency opportunities.
You willuse your strongfinancial managementand accounting knowledge and experience to lead the collection and validation of financial and activity data andassistwith the development of processes and methodologies to improve the Costing outputs

Person Specification
Qualifications/Training Essential
Completed AAT Technician Stage or be part way through studying for a CCAB/CIMA qualification
Desirable
CCAB qualified Degree or equivalent
Previous Experience Essential
Experience working in NHS financial management or costing Experience working with and analysing large complex datasets Familiar with presenting complex information to a range of stakeholders, including non-finance professionals
Desirable
Experience working with acute provider NHS costing data; service line reporting (SLR) and/or patient level information & cost systems (PLICs) Experience of using SQL Server management studio Experience of building and maintaining reports in Power BI
Skills Essential
IT literate & proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and advanced keyboard skills Ability to apply knowledge to workload and demonstrate analytical skills
Desirable
Advanced Excel skills Good SQL query writing skills
Knowledge Essential
Understanding of accounting procedures, financial systems and general ledger Understanding of NHS finance regime and environment
