Job summary
Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow post on the Breast Unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital. This post has been established to support research within the Breast Unit and will be available from September 2026 (flexible according to candidate's availability) for a period of 24 months.
The post-holder will be part of the breast medical oncology team at the Chelsea branch of the Royal Marsden and will work alongside the clinical team to conduct clinical research in breast cancer patients who have completed their adjuvant endocrine therapy. The Fellow will work to design, secure funding for and set-up the Long TRAK-ER trial, aiming to determine the rate of ctDNA relapse in patients with high-risk ER+ breast cancer who have completed adjuvant ET within 3 years. As part of this role, the fellow will establish community-based study participant identification and community-based blood collection for ctDNA analysis.
Main duties of the job
The fellow will also work on other ctDNA studies within the breast unit including CSF collection studies in advanced breast cancer patients.
The post holder will be expected to register for a higher degree (MD) at the Institute of Cancer Research. Some (limited) wet laboratory work will be involved in this project.
The successful candidate will have completed general medical training including MRCP or acceptable equivalent and preferably have some experience of oncology at a specialist registrar or clinical fellow level. Previous experience of breast cancer and clinical cancer research is also highly desirable.

Qualifications Essential
GMC Full registration with a license to practice MB BS or acceptable equivalent MRCP or acceptable equivalent
Experience Desirable
Experience in oncology at fellow or SpR level in a recognised Cancer Centre/Unit.
Knowledge Essential
