Job summary
The Heart Centre at the University Hospital of North Midlands is a tertiary centre delivering high quality cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery to the population of Staffordshire, Shropshire, East Cheshire and North Wales.
We provide a 24 hour primary PCI service with our own dedicated emergency portal via a 13 bedded Coronary Care Unit providing invasive and non invasive care for patients with acute coronary syndromes and life threatening arrythmias.
Co-located to this are our inpatient beds which provide state of the art real time monitoring.
Main duties of the job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced acute cardiology nurse to join the UHNM Cardiac Catheter Lab team. You will develop skills in both the catheter labs and recovery area of this busy tertiary centre. We undertake over 500 TAVI and structural heart procedures annually in addition to a busy emergency and elective PCI service. We provide a high volume complex pacing and electrophysiology service.
You will participate in innovative and specialised, evidence based nursing practice as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
