Main duties of the job
The job role requires you to provide support and treatment to people who use our services for substance misuse dependency ensuring interventions are delivered as part of recovery care plan.
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking for either:
Substance Misuse Nurse - Band 5
or Substance Misuse Specialist - Band 6
Location:
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM

Band 5: Substance Misuse Worker
Suitable for someone who:
Enjoys working with and providing structured recovery-focused support to service users with alcohol and/or drug misuse problems. Someone who enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with the ability to work flexibly as the needs of the service changes and who has a keen interest in substance misuse dependency issues with a good understanding of the recovery agenda and with good understanding of recovery model and the value structured treatment pathways have in substance misuse dependency recovery-based treatment.

Band 6: Substance Misuse Specialist
Suitable for someone who:
is a professional, dynamic and experienced clinician and has excellent complex risk management and crisis intervention skills in a fast moving environment, adaptable and can meet the needs of Service Users establishing strong professional supportive relationships. To work and act appropriately on own initiative within a multi-disciplinary team and has the skills to utilize knowledge, skills and experience to deliver a high standard of evidence based clinical interventions.
You will have knowledge, skills and experience in Mental Health and Substance Misuse with an excellent understanding of the recovery agenda

Qualifications - Band 5 Essential
oDiploma in health or social care related subject. oEvidence of continued professional development in relevant subject areas. oDriving License (and able to drive in the UK)
Desirable
oRegistered nurse
Qualifications - Band 6 Essential
oRegistered Nurse Qualification (NMC) OR Degree qualification as a HCP ie Social Work / Occupational Therapist 'OR' oDegree must either be in a health-related subject i.e., psychology, counselling, criminology, etc oDegree plus a post graduate qualification in substance misuse/addictive behaviour, etc. oDriving License (and able to drive in the UK)
Experience Band 5 Essential
1 years' experience minimum, working in Substance Misuse and providing group facilitation
Experience - Band 6 Essential
oSignificant experience in Substance Misuse / Mental Health. oExcellent standard of Mental Health and Substance Misuse knowledge, skills and experience. oEvidence of medication management (OST)
Desirable
oEvidence of continuous professional development oExperience in: -high quality report writing -strong team working across divisional and organisational boundaries.
