Job summary

The Paediatric Plastic Surgery department covers the wide spectrum of sub-specialities within paediatric plastic surgery ranging from facial palsy, Microtia/Atresia, congenital upper/limb, chest wall and vascular anomalies while also being a busy paediatric trauma centre for the South East. The department is currently involved in many exciting initiatives and we are looking for an individual with appropriate clinical and people skills to complement our enthusiastic, outgoing and welcoming team and help keep the service in the forefront of clinical and academic excellence.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training Essential

Full GMC Registration and hold a licence to practise MRCS or equivalent Eligibility to work in the UK

Desirable

Postgraduate qualification

Clinical Experience Essential

Comprehensive clinical experience in surgical specialty

Desirable

Previous exposure to plastic surgery

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team Ability to perform clinical procedures commensurate with post

Research Essential

Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research

Desirable

Evidence of original research/academic activity and participation in audit

Teaching Essential

Experience of teaching

Teaching certificate or equivalent

Management Desirable

Understanding of the role of management in regional service provision

Evidence of understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council
