Job summary Job Summary We are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to work with us at the Leeds site of the Northern and Yorkshire Regional Cleft Lip and Palate Service. This is a 9-month fixed term 0.6wte Band 7 post to cover a maternity leave vacancy. The post-holder will be based at Leeds General Infirmary. You will be working in a team comprising 4.7 wte SLT's who sit within the Northern and Yorkshire Regional Cleft Lip and Palate Service. Established in 2002 the service is commissioned to provide specialist therapy at a local level across the region in addition to performing our core duties as a designated regional centre.
The role will include responsibility for one or more designated localities within our region, undertaking a wide range of clinical assessments and specialist therapy, and providing training and support to community speech and language therapists. There will also be the requirement to participate in speech videofluoroscopy clinics, multidisciplinary clinics, and clinical discussion meetings. Our service delivery comprises both virtual and face to face clinics and meetings, so there will be an opportunity for the post-holder to work from home as well as from the hospital and outreach clinics.
Applicants must have a full driving licence with access to a vehicle and willingness to travel, current HCPC registration, and be able to show evidence of continuing professional development.

What you will bring to the role The post-holder will:
Provide highly specialist SLT diagnostic, assessment and therapeutic interventions across the Cleft Lip and Palate and related disorders care pathway as a core member of the MDT.
Manage own case load
Manage specialist therapeutic equipment.
Be involved in the provision of in-service training to healthcare staff, patients, care providers and SLT students.
Be a key member of the multidisciplinary care team providing integrated SLT care.
Shows initiative in assisting and supporting local SLT teams in designated areas of the network
