Provide senior clinician services in Oncology as per job plan or as agreed within the Trust Work with consultant colleagues, nursing and therapies staff to ensure efficient use of Trusts resources and contribute actively to clinical governance in the department and to development of quality enhancement projects in the unit. Attend MDTs as required to support Peer Review compliance Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Trust policies Attend patients whilst receiving admitted care. Provide teaching and mentoring Participate

The post holder will be responsible for managing their own workload, prioritising tasks effectively, and ensuring deadlines are met. They will be expected to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to high standards. The role will involve working across multiple sites and requires excellent communication and organisational skills.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GMC registration with a licence to practise. CCT (or equivalent) in relevant specialty or within 6 months of achieving

Desirable

Subspecialty training aligned with service need Higher degree (e.g., MD, PhD) or additional postgraduate qualifications Formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCert in Medical Education)

Experience Essential

Broad and relevant clinical experience in the specialty Experience in teaching and supervising resident doctors and medical students Participation in clinical audit and quality improvement

Desirable

Experience in curriculum development or educational leadership Publications in peer-reviewed journals; involvement in clinical research or trials
