Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust are looking to recruited a Speciality Doctor to work on our Acute Care ward in Bowmere Hospital, Chester.
The post is of specialty doctor to work across 2 Acute Care wards in Bowmere Hospital, Chester. The doctor appointed will be working with two consultants who are part of the inpatient team. This post is full time, and the doctor will be part of the multidisciplinary team providing care toacutely unwell and patients presenting with functional mental health problems in different ward settings
Main duties of the job
The post is for full time (1.0 WTE) specialty doctor to work across 2 acute care wards, Beech Ward (adults of working age) and Juniper Ward(ageless functional mental health).
The post holder will work as a senior medical member of the team and provide the team adequate medical support. Post holder will independently review the patients and write appropriate treatment plan. Post holder will be a member of MDT and will attend the meetings as required. Post holder is also expected to write tribunal reports and attend the tribunals and managers hearing. The post holder will exercise a middle grade level of clinical responsibility as delegated by the consultant to whom he/she is responsible. The specialty doctor will work as part of MDT and provide senior clinician level support to the team under the guidance of the RC.
The post holder will participate in the multidisciplinary clinical meetings in the ward settings depending upon the schedule of the team in whichthey are based.
The work will consist of assessments of emergency and crisis, usually hospital based, together with ongoing care under the supervision of theconsultant involving a spectrum of activities such as assessing patients who are newly admitted, documentation of history taking, assessment ofmental states, conducting physical examinations, ongoing note keeping, timely completion of discharge summaries/letters, prescribing andmultidisciplinary working.

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
