Main duties of the job

You must be a registered nurse with a passion for teaching underpinned by consistent strong values and be able to influence change through persistence, diplomacy and vision.

Clinical facilitators are required to provide clinical expertise, advice and support in order to ensure a consistent, effective approach to patient care, as well as, supporting, promoting, facilitating and actively encouraging innovative practice.

An essential aspect is the ability to work autonomously, demonstrate organisational skills, be approachable, communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback.

Clinical facilitators are required to work effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team contributing to Corporate Practice Development projects associated with National and Trust wide priorities and objectives. Inter-professional team working across divisions to support colleagues within the team may be required.

Qualifications Essential

1st Level Registration Experience within an acute trust within a medicine setting Completed or undertaking a first level degree in Nursing/ Health Studies Teaching qualification - accredited mentorship module/SSSA qualification Understanding of Quality Governance and its application Working knowledge of Trust and National Nursing initiatives Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable

Evidence of previous teaching experience both informal and forma

Experience Essential

Evidence of a high level of nursing practice - uses evidence based practice to support patient care delivery Credible clinical role model who is committed to improving standards and patient care Evidence of leadership qualities Demonstrates record of achievement in changing and developing practice

Desirable

Leadership Course Band 6 or comparable experience to include completion of the senior band 5 competency pack Demonstration of autonomous practice Evidence of networking across professional boundaries

Skills Essential

Excellent communication, liaison and interpersonal skills both written and verbal Evidence of being a Reflective Practitioner Highly motivated Work cross site as and when required

Communication Essential

Demonstrate excellent written communication skills Effective listening skills Demonstrates a non-judgemental, holistic approach
