Main duties of the job

The Decontamination Manager is responsible for the professional, technical, efficient and effective management of decontamination services including the sterilisation of clinical equipment and medical devices in accordance with current legislation (MDD 93/42/EEC, ISO 13485:2016).
The Decontamination Department (Hospital Sterilization & Disinfection Unit HSDU and Endoscope Decontamination Unit EDU) is responsible for providing Trust-wide decontamination services. This includes services to all theatres, endoscopy units, out-patient facilities and external contracts maintaining full documented traceability.

Education & Qualifications Essential
Management qualification or equivalent experience Eligibility for Full Membership of Institute of Decontamination Sciences Qualification in Decontamination Sciences.
Desirable
Degree in Decontamination Services Qualification in the auditing of processes of decontamination or equivalent experience
Knowledge Essential
Proven track record in financial management, staff management, risk management and management of decontamination services MDD/93/42/EEC, ISO 13485:2016 Quality Management Systems and audit Ability to plan strategically Technical knowledge of decontamination processes including sterilisation and high disinfection of medical devices

Proven experience in similar position Decontamination experience
